INVITATION TO PRESENT AT THE 2026 WESTERN SOCIETY OF PERIODONTOLOGY ANNUAL SESSION

The Western Society Of Periodontology is excited to invite all periodontal residents to showcase their clinical expertise and research skills in periodontology at the 2026 WSP Annual Session, held from June 12-14, 2026, at Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale, AZ.

This is a unique opportunity to share your research innovations, or a compelling clinical case with fellow students, faculty, and dental professionals from around the world.

TWO POSTER COMPETITION CATEGORIES

  • Clinical Cases
  • Original Research (Research be published or in progress)

DURING THE 2026 WSP CONFERENCE

Candidates will be invited to present in an e-poster or an oral presentation format. A panel of judges will evaluate the presentations, and the top two finalists will receive cash awards:

1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $250

Participants will receive a special discount on WSP Annual Session registration fee and hotel.

We encourage all residents to take advantage of this exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of Periodontology education & research!

HOW TO aPPLY

2026 WESTERN SOCIETY OF PERIODONTOLOGY ANNUAL SESSION

How to Apply:

  • Online Submission & Deadline: Complete the application and abstract form available at www.wsperio.org no later than 11:59pm EDT on April 2, 2026. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. Please email completed materials to acollins@wsperio.org.

  • Review Process: All submissions will be reviewed by the WSP Conference Committee for relevance, clarity, and quality. Applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection by April 20, 2026. Please refrain from contacting WSP about application status before this date.
  • One Submission per Participant: Only one application per primary (main) author will be accepted.
  • Presentation Categories:

    • Clinical Case

      • A detailed report of a patient’s presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

    • Research (Basic Science or Clinical)

      • A structured investigation involving data collection, analysis, and hypothesis testing.

  • Abstract Requirements

    • Case Report Abstract must include:

      • Rationale and clinical significance of the case 

      • Diagnosis and etiology

      • Treatment approach and outcomes

      • Conclusions (must be final and complete)

    • Research Abstracts must include:
      • Objectives

      • Materials & Methods

      • Results (include relevant data & statistics)

      • Conclusions (must be complete & final)

  • Acknowledgement of Financial Support : If applicable, please disclose any financial support (including funding source, amount, and grant number).

  • Confidentiality Statement: By submitting applicants acknowledge that all information is free of confidentiality restrictions and may be publicly discussed and disseminated without limitation.
