The Western Society of Periodontology (WSP) is distinguished by its diverse membership, which includes periodontists, general and specialty dentists, and dental hygienists. Its mission is to foster a shared understanding among these professionals so that the challenges facing 21st-century dentistry can be addressed through collective expertise.
WSP is a non-political organization dedicated to the education of both members and patients. Unlike many professional associations, its focus is not limited to national or state issues, but extends across a broad western geographic region. This region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, the Canadian provinces from British Columbia through Manitoba, and Mexico.
WSP brings together periodontists, restorative dentists, and dental hygienists who seek to expand their knowledge of periodontology, dental hygiene, and restorative dentistry within a collaborative environment.
Our membership includes academicians, researchers, clinicians, graduate dental students, and hygienists.
As we move forward, our goal is to strengthen the WSP presence and expand study club activity throughout the region.
The WSP sponsors 14 continuing education events annually across the western region, in addition to our popular Annual Session.
