Effective Strategies to Improve Patient Home Care

Heather Kelley
HEATHER KELLEY, RDH, MSDH

COURSE DESCRIPTON:

Oral healthcare products are being purchased, yet we still have a high prevalence of gum disease. Dental professionals can bridge this gap by implementing effective strategies to improve patient home care. By identifying appropriate continuing care intervals and delivering oral hygiene instructions using evidence-based behavioral change frameworks, patients will improve their oral health. Lastly, not every patient is the same, so we must tailor the home care regimen recommendations. Based on research and specific patient needs, we will discuss what types of modalities to recommend.
