This intensive two-day program is designed to provide clinicians with a comprehensive, systematic, and clinically applicable approach to CBCT application and interpretation across multiple disciplines, including implant dentistry, endodontics, TMJ evaluation, airway assessment, and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Lavasani is the most popular speaker today on CBCT Interpretation and Assessment.
Day One establishes the essential scientific and diagnostic foundation for responsible CBCT use. Participants will review the fundamental principles of CBCT imaging, including image acquisition, voxel size, field of view selection, artifacts, limitations, and optimization of image quality. Essential concepts in radiation dose, and current safety protocols will be discussed to ensure ethical and compliant imaging practices.
A comprehensive review of relevant craniofacial anatomy within a CBCT volume will follow, along with systematic evaluation of odontogenic, non-odontogenic pathologies including key radiographic signs suggestive of malignancy. Clinical applications in implant planning, sinus augmentation, endodontic diagnosis, TMJ assessment, airway evaluation, nerve mapping, and prevention of surgical complications will be emphasized. A structured, step-by-step CBCT interpretation strategy will be introduced to promote diagnostic accuracy and reduce blind spots.
Day Two is fully interactive and case-based. Participants will work directly with CBCT software to navigate volumes and apply the structured interpretation protocol across a wide range of real clinical cases. Guided evaluation will include implant site analysis, measurement, nerve marking, sinus assessment, complex root canal anatomy, reason for endodontic failures, TMJ pathology, airway evaluation, graft healing comparison, impacted teeth relationships, nerve proximity assessment, and identification of incidental or pathologic findings.
Practical strategies for integrating comprehensive CBCT interpretation into daily clinical workflow will be emphasized, strengthening diagnostic confidence, interdisciplinary communication, and medico-legal protection.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
