WSP RESIDENT COMPETITION
COMPETITION INVITATION TO PRESENT AT THE 2025 WESTERN SOCIETY OF PERIODONTOLOGY ANNUAL SESSION
The Western Society of Periodontology is excited to invite residents to showcase their clinical knowledge and skills in periodontology and implantology by delivering a 15 minute presentation at the 2025 annual session, held from September 12-14, 2025, at Hilton La Jolla San Diego. Presentations will take place Friday from 1:00 – 5:30 pm.
This is a unique opportunity to share your research, innovative techniques, or compelling case studies in periodontology and implantology with fellow residents, faculty, and dental professionals from around the world.

- Case Reports
- Original Research (Research can be or has been published)
DURING THE 2025 CONFERENCE
A panel of judges will evaluate the presentations, and the top two in each category will receive cash awards in each category:

How to Apply:
Online Submission Only : Complete the application and abstract form available at www.wsperio.org by August 1. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Email submissions to dgoldman@wsperio.org.
Deadline : Submissions must be received by 11:59 PM EDT on August 1, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Review Process : Submissions will be reviewed by the WSP Conference Committee for relevance and quality. Applicants will receive an acceptance or rejection email by August 15, 2025. Please do not contact WSP regarding your status before this date.
One Submission per Participant : Only one application per main author will be accepted.
Submission Categories
Case Report
Detailed report on an individual patient’s symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Research (Basic Science or Clinical)
Process of identifying a problem, collecting data, and testing a hypothesis.
Abstract Requirements
Research Abstract should include:
Objectives
Material and Methods
Results, including data/statistics
Conclusions (must be final and complete)
Case Report Abstract should include:
Rationale for the case and its significance
Diagnosis and etiology
Treatment options and outcomes
Conclusions (must be final and complete)
Acknowledgement of Financial Support : If applicable, include details of financial support (Source, Amount, Grant number)
Confidentiality : By submitting an e-Poster, the applicant acknowledges that all information is free from confidentiality restrictions and may be discussed and disseminated without limitation.
